Welcome to the web site of Troop 369! Our troop can provide you and your son the opportunity to participate in activities that are not available to many other boys of his age.  The goal of our troop and the Boy Scouts of America Program is to build our Scouts into successful young men of exceptional honor and character. The Boy Scouts of America Program will also provide our Scouts with ample opportunities to improve their teamwork and leadership skills.

Our next Court of Honor is one week away.  Come out and support the youth that are advancing in rank!  Activities followed by refreshments. 

Friends and family are welcome to attend!

Cabin Camping - Ockanickon

Join the troop for an unimaginable experience.  We will be cabin camping at Ockanickon Scout Reservation and then heading to an arena to be trained in the sport of horseback archery.  This is an all day event. 

 9 am till 12 pm

*Archery safety *blind knocking drills *Archery shooting forms * intro to side shot * learning to shoot and move * working on target tracking *Archery ball target: shooting moving object

 1 pm till 4pm

* learning shooting positions from horseback *shooting  standing still on horseback * shooting moving down the lane *shooting multiple targets on the move 

 4pm questions and close out talk

 Courage  This is an expensive event. The troop will be subsidizing the camping and food portion of this event.  The youth will only be paying for the cost of the training.    

Please take advantage of this once in a lifetime event.  This experience you can carry with you forever.  How many people are able to say they have trained to shoot an arrow from horseback.

Scout Sunday February 4

Scout Sunday is less than one week away.  Join the troop for the 11:00 am mass on Sunday February 4.  The troop will gather 15 minutes early in the lower church and parade into the upper church with its flags.  We will be joined by the cub scouts.  Scouts will sit in the front of the church in reserved pews.    

Help the troop grow and increase its visibility in the Parish. 

Youth Leadership Elections

At our next troop meeting we will be holding youth leadership elections.  This is the perfect time to step up and out of your comfort zone to become a youth leader.  Elections for Senior Patrol leader and Patrol leader will be held.  Put your stamp on the direction of the troop and lead us into the future.  Typical terms are from 6 months to a year.

Lafayette District Klondike 2024 , Jan 19 thru Jan 21

Welcome to Klondike and the Game of Turtles!  The troop will be tested by 10 skill stations.  

 

  1. Fire Building
  2. First Aid 
  3. Fitness
  4. Knots and lashings
  5. axe throwing
  6. archery
  7. orienteering
  8. search and rescue
  9. wilderness survival
  10. Nature

Lunch be prepared and graded on the trail.  When its all done there will be a feast back at the cabin. Please view the attached leaders guide for the points calculation.

A job well done!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!  

It took perseverance but we managed to sell nearly all of our trees and wreathes.  Everyone rest up over the holiday.  Our next meeting is Tuesday January 2.  There are only 3 meetings before Klondike so its now crunch time.
