Welcome to Troop 369 !

Welcome to the web site of Troop 369! Our troop can provide you and your son the opportunity to participate in activities that are not available to many other boys of his age.  The goal of our troop and the Boy Scouts of America Program is to build our Scouts into successful young men of exceptional honor and character. The Boy Scouts of America Program will also provide our Scouts with ample opportunities to improve their teamwork and leadership skills.

Klondike 2020 ! - January 17 thru 19

Posted by scampanella on Jan 5 2020 - 7:54am

The 2020 Lafayette District Winter Camp-O-Ree is set for the weekend of January 17-19, 2020 at Musser Scout Reservation.  The centerpiece of the weekend, as always, will be our District Klondike Derby at Camp Delmont on Saturday, January 18th.

  • Fire Building
  • First aid
  • Fitness
  • Lashing/Ropes
  • Map & Compass
  • Nature/Tracking
  • Teambuilding
  • Tomahawks (Wrist rockets for Webelos – per the Guide to Safe Scouting)
  • Wilderness Survival

Each town in our Klondike Territory will be awarding points based on their scoring criteria.  The number of gold nuggets found (points earned) will determine the winning sleds.  As many as ten nuggets can be earned at each of our outposts.  Overall time on the course will be used as the tie-breaker.  Most important of all, work together as a team and have fun.

After check-in/registration, sleds will assemble at the parade field in front of the Nelson Training Center by 9:00 AM.  After the opening ceremony and announcements, there will be a shotgun start from the parade field at 9:30.  All sleds will need to return to Klondike headquarters upon completion of the Derby course.

Merit Badge College January 25

Posted by scampanella on Dec 22 2019 - 8:04am

Lafayette District Merit Badge College is SATURDAY, JANUARY 25, 2020 at the SPRING FORD NINTH GRADE CENTER from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM (lunch has been shortened to 30 minutes).

Scouts should plan to bring their own lunches, since there will not be time to leave the building.

FEE: $5.00 per scout.  Selections are due December 20

Each Scout should select their 1st and 2nd choice. Explain to them that many badges are only offered once, so they need to choose carefully. HOWEVER, I reserve the right to move them around to make sure there are seats for them in classes. Some counselors have restricted the number of Scouts to their class.

Registration fees

Posted by scampanella on Dec 1 2019 - 7:16am

Here we are nearing the end of October 2019 and it is time to re-charter the troop with Cradle of Liberty Council.  I hope everyone finds their time with the troop rewarding and fun.  As a member of Troop 369 please be aware that the troop charges a minimal re-charter or registration fee.  Instead we charge activity fees to cover the cost per activity your scout participates in.  Awards are paid for through fundraising efforts.  In the next few weeks we will be submitting our new roster and paying a fee of more than $1500.  I am assuming that there will be no change to the roster unless you notify me otherwise.

I hope that you continue to see the value of scouting and the commitment of the troops adult leaders.  We do this because we believe in your sons and the values instilled by the BSA.  At the next troop meeting Dated October 22 or October 29 please remember to send in a check in the amount of $45 made out to: BSA Troop 369.  If you desire a subscription to Boys life please make your check in the amount of $57.

This year there is a large amount of fees outstanding to the troop.  I understand that Scouting functions can be a financial burden, but the experiences gained through scouting will deliver powerful returns for the rest of your sons life.  So, please try to be timely with your payments.

The fee breaks down as follows:

Of the $45 fee $35 goes to National and $2 goes to Council.  The troop retains $8 to help defray the cost of the program.
